Skoda is actively pursuing towards improving their brand image in India. They have identified the reasons behind why their cars, which even though are among the best in the segment, feature on the lower side of sales charts. One of the reason behind low sales, is their poor after sales network.
Over the years, too many bad experiences have been reported by a lot of Skoda owners. And this kept potential new customers away from the brand. Skoda aims to change that, but it will take time, probably years. But they have taken upon themselves, and are working towards fixing all issues that their existing customers are facing.
To provide hassle-free experience of owning a Skoda, the company had earlier introduced 4x4x4 Service Care Package, which revolved around 4-year Warranty, 4-year Road Side Assistance and optional 4 year Maintenance Package as standard for all Skoda cars. This was an industry first offer. Today, they have gone a bit further on that promise, and announced Shield Plus.
Skoda Shield Plus offers extended warranty for 5th and 6th year or 1,50,000 km (whichever is earlier) on all Skoda cars on sale in the country. It also includes Skoda Assist, which takes care of 24 x 7 Road Side Assistance (RSA) for 5th and 6th year. The new Shield Plus package is accessible to existing customers whose cars are covered in the four-year warranty program. Shield Plus brings together benefits, value for money and prompt personal service when claims are involved. For a range of failures – mechanical/electrical, flat/weak battery, flat tyre, fuel exhaustion, mislaid key, breakdown, and accident, a call to Skoda Assistance is the only thing customers need to resort to.
