Maruti Suzuki Q4 2015 results better forecast, net profit at Rs 1,284 crores

For the period Jan-Mar 2015, Maruti Suzuki sales stood at 346,712 units, growing by 6.7%. This number includes exports of 29,542 units, which grew by 12.4%. Revenue from net sales stood at Rs 132,726 million, which is an increase of 12.3%.

Speaking about highlights for the FY2014/15, MSIL posted sales of 1,292,415 units, a growth of 11.9% as compared to FY2013/14. Of this, 121,713 units were exported, which also grew by 20.5%. Net Sales (net of excise) was registered at Rs. 486,055 million, a growth of 14%. Net profit for the fiscal stood at Rs 3,711 crores, a growth of 33.4%. The result pushed their share price on the Bombay Stock Exchange to 3,679.95, before ending at 3,646.70 which is +106.90 (3.02%) for the day.

Apart from revealing their results for the last quarter, Maruti Suzuki has also revealed their plans which will make sure they continue to post increase in sales and profits in the coming years. This includes launching new cars, adding more dealerships, increased focus on rural markets, and improving the reliability, quality and fuel efficiency of their cars.

For 2015, they plan to launch two new cars, both in completely new segments, where Maruti has no presence till date. This will be in the premium hatchback and SUV segment. Entering the hatch segment will be new Maruti Fronx, currently codenamed YRA, while in the SUV segment we will see ACross, named SCross internationally.

Both these cars will help Maruti increase their sales even further as they will enter new segments. Fronx will compete with Hyundai Elite i20 and VW Polo, while ACross will rival Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. Apart from these two new cars, Maruti will also launch Celerio diesel in coming weeks.
