Jaguar Land Rover has announced bookings for the new locally manufactured Range Rover Velar, which will be available at a price of Rs.72.47 lakhs onward. Orders are being accepted at all company showrooms with deliveries to commence from early May 2019.
Range Rover Velar is now locally manufactured. It is being offered with two power train options that include a 184 kW 2.0 litre petrol engine and a 132 kW 2.0 litre diesel engine. Local manufacturing will make it more affordable to buyers in the country. Velar will come in loaded with state of the art technology and features and boast of an all new design.
Range Rover Velar sports Touch Pro Duo, Activity Key, Wi-Fi and Pro Services, Meridian Sound System (380W) along with a 4 zone Climate Control. Locally manufactured Land Rover Velar on board comforts will include Cabin Air Ionisation and Premium Leather interiors while it will sit on new 50.8 cm (20) wheels with a full size spare wheel. It will also get an R-Dynamic exterior pack, Adaptive Dynamics, Premium LED headlights with signature LED DRL, Park Assist among other driver and passenger comfort and connectivity features.
The Land Rover product portfolio in India includes the Discovery Sport priced from Rs.44.68 lakhs, Range Rover Evoque priced from Rs.52.06 lakhs, the new Discovery priced from Rs.76.94 lakhs and the Range Rover Sport priced at Rs.103.74 lakhs and Range Rover at Rs.181.86 lakhs.
Tata Motors owned Jaguar Land Rover has reported a 5.8 percent decline in retail sales which stood at 5,78,915 units in FY2018-19. The company plans to launch hybrid SUVs in India while there are also efforts being made to commence electrification of its SUVs by the end of this year. The Jaguar Land Rover also plans launch of the I-PACE in India by the second half of 2020 following by a updated Jaguar XE with a plug in hybrid.
